Sounds wrong, doesn’t it?
We have grown up believing that courage is this innate thing that we are born with and cultivate behind closed doors. Well that’s not actually the truth. Courage, in our opinion, comes rather from the people and situations around you. Whilst you are the one who chooses to be courageous, the source of it nine times out of ten is not you.
Someone buying a ticket to come watch your football match, someone investing their money in your idea, even someone telling you that they believe in you, these are all precursors for courage. Without them, this world would be a very different place.
Why are we telling you this?
Well because we want you to know that if you feel like you haven’t done something courageous lately, or ever, it’s probably because you have been relying on yourself too much. Right now, would be an important time to realise that who and what you surround yourself with will either build your courage, or bash it.
Here is our advice:
In order to feel courageous enough to enter a race, start training with people who run them. In order to feel courageous enough to start your own business, spend time with people who have their own. In order to feel courageous enough to stand for something, be around people that already do.
Doing what we do here at Solus takes courage, luckily we have customers who believe in who we are and what we do, and this gives us courage.
